Released on 18 November 2022 and part of Nike's Hot Step Air Terra line. This release has a leather upper in Light Bone/Metallic Gold. The Hot Step Air Terra is the NOCTA release that gave the sub label a silhouette of its own rather than a borrowed one: a chunky, high volume shoe with an exaggerated sole and visible Nike Air, built to look substantial from every angle. Champagne is the colourway that softens all that mass, a warm off gold neutral that reads closer to sand than to metal and lets the shape do the arguing. Nike has been making cushioning visible since the Air Max arrived in 1987, when the pressurised gas unit sealed in the midsole became a design feature instead of a hidden component, and this shoe is a very modern take on that decision. Style code DH4692 003 identifies it.
Champagne is a neutral that behaves like a colour, so build around it. Wear it with wide cream or stone trousers and a brown knit for a full warm tone outfit where the bulk looks intentional, or with black cargo trousers and an olive jacket so the pale sole cuts the darkness at ground level. It suits city weekends, evenings and travel, and it is not a shoe for wet or muddy ground. Chunky silhouettes need a trouser with enough width to sit over them, so avoid anything tapered too tightly. Nike Air is a pressurised gas unit sealed into the midsole, and on the Terra it is exposed as part of the design language rather than tucked away, which means the sole unit is both the cushioning and the visual centre of the shoe. The upper is built with volume rather than minimalism, so this fits and feels bulkier than a court shoe and sits higher off the ground. Champagne is a pale warm tone, which flatters the shape but shows scuffing on the toe and along the sole edge. Expect real weight compared with a running shoe, and a break in period while the upper settles around your instep.
