Warm marbled neutrals belong with earthy clothing. Recipe one: tan or khaki wide leg trousers with a cream tee, barefoot or in low socks, so the shoe extends the palette rather than punctuating it. Recipe two: faded brown shorts with a white tee for hot weather, where the clay tone in the swirl picks up the shorts. Keep everything else unpatterned. Size down, since Foam Runners run large, and note they favour a wide foot over a narrow one. Good for travel and warm days, poor on wet tile. Marbled colourways came after the Foam Runner had already done its cultural work. One piece injection moulded EVA, partly made from algae derived foam, with the cream and clay tones carried through the body of the material rather than applied to its face. That means the marbling continues under the surface, so scuffing reveals more pattern instead of bare foam, and no two pairs swirl in exactly the same way. There is no stitching, no lining and no separate sole, and the oval vents through the upper cut weight and release heat. Expect a broad fit, an unlined footbed that works best against bare skin, and foam that feels stiff in cold weather then relaxes as it warms. It is light enough to disappear on the foot.
