Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released on 19 April 2023 as part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Mica Green/Photon Dust/Coconut Milk. The Air Force 1 is the shoe that proved Nike Air could be a lifestyle argument rather than only a performance one. The pressurised air unit sealed in the midsole is invisible here, buried under a thick white sole, and the shoe became a staple of mainstream American youth dress anyway, alongside Air Jordans and Air Max models, before returning through 1990s and 2000s casual and athleisure looks. This '07 LX build takes the standard low and treats it as a materials exercise: Mica Green against Coconut Milk, a soft sage over a warm off white, which is a fashion palette rather than a sportswear one.
Two outfits. Soft neutral: cream or ecru wide trousers, an oatmeal knit, and the sage reading as the only colour, quiet and deliberate. Earth tones: olive chinos and a brown suede or waxed jacket, where Mica Green ties into the outfit rather than standing apart from it. Suits spring and daytime dressing. AF1s run large, so half a size down is normal. Protect both tones before first wear, clean the midsole with a dedicated white sole cleaner rather than a household one, treat the pale leather with a colourless conditioner so it does not dry and crack, and store away from sunlight, which yellows cream leather fastest.
The Air Force 1 carries more cultural weight than almost anything else Nike makes, because it was adopted rather than marketed into place. From the 1980s onward Nike became a status symbol in urban and hip hop fashion, and the AF1 was the shoe at street level, the one you wore daily rather than displayed. That is why the company can put a fashion palette on it without breaking anything: the silhouette has enough authority to absorb sage green and cream and still read as an Air Force 1 from across a road.
The LX designation means a luxury materials build over the standard '07: better hides, more considered stitching and upgraded lace, tongue and heel detailing, on the same architecture. That architecture is a perforated toe box, stacked leather panels with the Swoosh as the central divider, a padded collar, and a thick rubber cupsole with a pivot circle underneath, hiding an Air unit in the midsole. Mica Green and Coconut Milk sit close together in value, so the shoe reads as a single soft tone from a distance and only separates up close. Off white leather yellows with age and sage marks with water, so both halves want protecting.
