New Balance 9060 New Spruce White

Released on 1 April 2025 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in New Spruce/White. New Spruce White is the 9060 at its most legible, a clean white base with a deep muted green running through the panelling. The 9060 exists because New Balance's 99x line, from the 990 of 1982 through the 991, 992, 993 and every revision after, became too culturally loaded to simply reissue again. So the brand exaggerated it instead, taking the proportions and the layering of those running shoes and warping them into something with no straight lines left. White is the version that shows the geometry most clearly, since there is no colour blocking to hide behind, and spruce green stops it from reading as a plain white sneaker. It is the archive rebuilt as a shape rather than as a memory.
