Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released on 14 September 2024 as part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Black/New Emerald/Pinkfire/Tour Yellow/Blue Gale. Para-Noise is one of the few Nike collaborations where the shoe is designed to change after you buy it. The G-Dragon Peaceminusone partnership named on this Air Force 1 Low built its identity around a surface meant to be worn away, so the pair you own after a year is not the pair you unboxed. That is a strange thing to do to the Air Force 1, the silhouette people historically kept pristine, cleaned obsessively and replaced rather than aged. This is the third chapter of that idea. Nike gave up a shoe that became a status symbol in urban and hip hop fashion from the 1980s onward and let a designer build a release around the act of ruining it, which is why the collaboration keeps coming back.
Two ways to wear it. First, let it age in public: dark denim or black trousers, a plain black tee, an oversized jacket, and wear the pair hard so the surface does what it was built to do. Second, the styled version: monochrome grey or black tailoring with a cropped hem, so the shoe reads as the single art object in an otherwise disciplined outfit. Good for gigs, city nights and any room where people notice footwear. Air Force 1s run large, so most people size down half. Skip the waterproofing spray, wipe dirt off with a barely damp cloth rather than scrubbing, keep the midsole clean since it is the only part meant to stay white, and store out of direct sun.
Nike's willingness to hand a silhouette to a musician rather than an athlete is a relatively recent turn for a company built on Steve Prefontaine, Michael Jordan and Serena Williams. But music has always been where Nike's culture gets loudest and most contested: it used the Beatles' Revolution in 1987 without Apple Records' approval and pulled the ads in March 1988 after a lawsuit, and Nike SB drew a public rebuke from Ian MacKaye over appropriated Minor Threat artwork in 2005. Working directly with an artist, in partnership rather than by borrowing, is the corrected version of that instinct. The Air Force 1 remains the shoe Nike hands over when it wants the collaboration to be seen everywhere.
No style code is listed, so the collaboration name carries the detail. The Air Force 1 Low is a leather upper with a perforated toe box, a stitched Swoosh, an ankle strap and a thick cupsole with an encapsulated Nike Air unit sealed inside the midsole rather than shown through a window. The Para-Noise concept works as a layered surface treatment on that upper, where the top coat is intended to abrade with wear and expose artwork underneath, so scuffing is the feature rather than the failure. That inverts every normal care instruction. Do not treat the panels with a heavy protective coating, because you would be sealing the shoe against the thing it is designed to do.
