Designed by Peter Moore and released on 20 March 2025 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Indigo Haze/White/Doll. Indigo Haze with Doll White is a women's colourway that treats the 1 as a colour study rather than a team shoe. Indigo Haze is a soft, dusty violet blue and Doll White is a warm off white rather than a stark one, so the pair sits together at low contrast, which is the opposite of how the model was originally blocked. The 1 came from Peter Moore working with Bruce Kilgore for a rookie Nike signed in October 1984, and its founding logic was hard colour separation in red, black and white. This is the same outline read at half volume, and it is one of the easiest versions of the shoe to actually wear.
Recipe one: cream wide leg trousers, a white tee, and a grey knit over the shoulders, letting the indigo be the only colour and keeping the whole outfit inside one warm neutral family. Recipe two: mid blue straight jeans, a navy crew, and a white shirt underneath, where the shoe bridges the two blues instead of matching either. Cream or off white socks rather than bright white, since bright white makes Doll White look dirty. It also carries the Banned advertising, built on the NBA rule requiring shoes to be at least 51 percent white, with Nike paying the fine rather than redesigning. Soft colourways like this exist because the outline is now strong enough to carry any palette. The Mid collar sits at the ankle bone, giving structure without the commitment of a High, and on a low contrast pair it makes the shoe look shorter and softer than it measures.
