Origin
Jet Set Travel is the name the house puts on its most explicit statement of intent, and a large saffiano tote in luggage is the flagship reading of it. Kors describes his own aesthetic as jet set glamour: clothes and bags built for travel and visible ease rather than ornament, an American sportswear idea given luxury treatment since the 1981 Bergdorf Goodman launch. Luggage is the warm tan that gives the colourway its name, and it is the shade that made the accessible tier famous when MICHAEL Michael Kors arrived in 2004 with handbags, shoes and ready to wear at reachable prices. Construction
Saffiano is a cross hatch textured leather finish and it suits a big travel tote for practical reasons: the texture masks scratching, it resists showing handling marks along the top edge, and it holds panel structure so a wide bag does not fold in on itself when half loaded. Luggage tan will warm slightly with use, which is normal in a light finished leather and reads as age rather than damage. Large means it takes a laptop, documents and the small chaos of a travel day, carried on the shoulder so both hands stay free.
