New Balance 9060 Grey White

Released on 12 October 2023 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Grey/White. The 9060 is New Balance reading its own archive and exaggerating it. It takes the visual grammar of the 99x runners, the shoes that turned suburban grey into a cultural object, and swells the midsole and the panel lines into something closer to sculpture. Grey White is the version that makes the argument most clearly, because grey is the colour the brand's reputation is built on. The 990 family became the archetypal American dad shoe, worn for comfort rather than status, and this shoe borrows that neutrality while abandoning its restraint. You get the ordinary colour and an extraordinary shape, which is why the 9060 became a way to wear New Balance without looking like you were wearing a running shoe.
