New Balance 2002r Pink Sand

Released on 27 June 2023 and part of New Balance's 2002R line. This release has a suede upper in Pink Sand/Quartz Pink. Pink Sand is a soft, dusty pink with warmth in it, the kind of colour that only works on a silhouette with enough hardware to balance it, and the 2002R has exactly that. The shape belongs to New Balance's running derived family, the part of the catalogue that takes the brand's technical history and puts it on pavements. That history is not marketing: the company started in 1906 outside Boston as the New Balance Arch Support Company, made the Trackster in 1960 as the first running shoe offered in varying widths, and has been privately held under Jim Davis since 1972, which is why it kept building complicated runners when the industry simplified. A pale pink makeup on that inheritance is a deliberately unserious gesture from a very serious house. The code is GC2002SK.
