Released on 19 January 2025 and part of New Balance's 530 line. This release has a mesh upper in Sea Salt/Arid Stone. Sea Salt with Arid Stone is the 530 sent out into the desert, a chalky off-white paired with a dry sandy tone that removes every trace of the model's 1990s sports origins. The 530 was a mid-priced running shoe, built for people getting miles in rather than for collectors, and that lack of preciousness is why it takes reinterpretation so easily. New Balance has always operated this way, letting function come first and letting culture decide what to do with the result, which is consistent with a company that started in 1906 making arch supports and only became a shoemaker because feet needed support the market was not providing.
