Designed by Peter Moore and released on 16 August 2025 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Black/Muslin/Varsity Red. Better With Time is a collaboration project on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, and the name is the brief. Rather than presenting the shoe factory fresh, the concept treats wear, patina and the passage of use as the finished state, which inverts how sneakers are normally sold. That only works on a silhouette whose clean version is already burned into everyone's memory. The Low OG uses the original panel geometry drawn by Peter Moore with Bruce Kilgore for the rookie Nike signed on 26 October 1984, released to the public on 1 April 1985. Handing that shape to an outside collaborator and asking for a shoe that looks lived in is Jordan Brand admitting the retro cycle needs new ideas, not new colours.
Utility
A shoe designed to look used should be worn hard, so pair it with clothes that age the same way. Raw or washed denim with a plain white tee is the natural fit, and the shoe will look better six months in than it does today. The second option is a workwear cut: canvas trousers, a heavy overshirt and a grey knit, where the worn finish blends into the whole outfit rather than standing out. Skip anything crisp and formal. A collaboration built on visible ageing is a direct comment on that market, where pairs are usually kept pristine rather than worn.
Construction
The Air Jordan 1 sits before the Nike Air cushioning that entered the line with the Air Jordan II, so this is a rubber cupsole over firm foam, flat and honest underfoot. The Low OG cut keeps the original detailing while dropping the collar below the ankle. On a project built around ageing, the finishing is the story: expect deliberate irregularity across panels rather than uniform factory surface, which means pairs will differ from one another and from press images. With no style code listed here, judge the specific material mix on the pair in hand. What is fixed is the underlying architecture: wide flat laces, layered panels and a cupsole that softens as you wear it.
