Air Jordan 1 Mid Cement Grey

Cement is one of the few words in this brand that carries a specific design history. When Tinker Hatfield took the line over from the third model, he introduced elephant print, a grey cracked pattern that became the most recognisable material code Jordan Brand owns, capable of signalling the house on its own. Borrowing cement grey for a Jordan 1 Mid pulls that later vocabulary back onto the first silhouette, the one Peter Moore designed with Bruce Kilgore for a rookie Nike signed in October 1984. It is a cross reference rather than a reissue, and it explains why grey has become almost a permanent fixture of the Mid range: the colour is doing archival work.
