Released on 10 September 2025 and part of Nike's Vomero 18 line. This release has a mesh upper in Multi-Color/Vivid Sulfur/Dark Sulfur/Clear. The Vomero sits at the cushioned end of Nike's daily running range, the shoe for people who want maximum comfort under the miles rather than the sharpest possible ride, and the eighteenth version arrives with an International Running Pack treatment that points at the sport's global spread rather than any single market. That framing is earned. Nike entered India in 1995 through a licensing agreement with Sierra Industrial Enterprises, now SSIPL, and set up Nike India Pvt Ltd in the mid 2000s, and India is also one of the Asian countries where its contract factories operate. Running is one of the few genuinely borderless categories it sells into.
Use one: daily easy and long runs where comfort under repeated impact matters more than responsiveness, particularly if you are running on concrete rather than softer surfaces. Use two: long days on your feet away from running entirely, where a cushioned trainer outperforms almost any casual shoe. Do not expect it to hold a fast rhythm; the platform is too soft for intervals or racing. Fit true to size with a thumb of space at the toe and wear a proper running sock. Rotate with a firmer trainer so the foam recovers between sessions, and replace on the basis of how flat the midsole feels rather than how the upper looks.
Nike's global running business is the part of the company that has least to do with celebrity and most to do with habit. Its authority there is founding level, built by a University of Oregon track coach and his former runner in 1964, and reinforced by decades of sponsorship across track and road. In India the commercial story has been harder than the cultural one: the business was priced roughly 30 percent above competitors, reported no net profit from 2006 until the financial year ending 2019, and closed around 200 stores from 2017. Running packs aimed at international audiences are the brand speaking to participation rather than to fandom.
Maximum cushioning is a structural problem, not just a soft one. A deep midsole has to keep the foot stable as it compresses, which means the sidewalls and the footbed geometry matter as much as the foam itself, otherwise the shoe becomes unpredictable once you fatigue and your form starts to drift. The upper on a shoe like this is built for hours rather than grams, with padding at the collar and a fit that holds without pinching. Pack colourways put applied graphics on the upper, and those are the surfaces that scuff first. Clean gently with foam and a soft brush, never machine wash, and let the shoe air dry slowly.
