Designed by Peter Moore and released on 6 August 2021 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Black/Light Fusion Red/White/Coast. Jordan Brand has always used the Air Jordan 1 as a canvas, and the grade school line is where that idea gets most literal. This Low is built around a children's art theme, which is a fitting choice for the shoe that started everything: Peter Moore's 1984 design for Michael Jordan, produced that November, released publicly in April 1985, and now a silhouette so widely recognised that a child's drawing on it reads as design rather than as decoration. GS sizing means the pair was made in grade school dimensions rather than adult ones. Style code DH5927 006 belongs to the everyday, non collector end of the range, which is exactly the right place for a shoe intended to be worn hard.
Keep the outfit plain so the artwork carries it: black or navy track pants with a white tee, or denim shorts with a plain coloured crew, both of which let the print be the only pattern. Nothing striped, nothing else printed. This is a school run and playground shoe rather than a formal one, and the Low cut is easier to get on and off unaided. Check grade school sizing against an adult chart before buying, and leave thumb width at the toe for growth. Clean printed panels with a soft dry brush and only a lightly damp cloth after that, since scrubbing lifts graphics faster than it lifts dirt.
The Air Jordan 1 became a canvas the whole design world wanted to paint on, running through Off-White under Virgil Abloh, Dior, Comme des Garcons, Supreme and KAWS, plus musicians including Drake, Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Eminem and Nicki Minaj. A children's art edition is that same instinct pointed at the least commercial source imaginable. It also lands on the model that turned sneaker collecting into a mass activity, which means a child wearing this is wearing the founding object of the entire category, dressed in something a child could have drawn. That is a better joke than most collaborations manage.
The Low uses the original panel map with the collar dropped below the ankle bone, which is why it needs no break in and why it is the sensible cut for younger wearers. Art themed makeups put their character into surface treatment: printed and applied elements sit on the panels while the shoe's structure stays untouched, so the silhouette is still immediately legible from a distance. That is deliberate. Graphic areas are the vulnerable part of any shoe like this, so they will show wear before the leather does. Lace it fully through the top eyelet, since a Low holds the foot with lace pressure alone and a loose pair on a running child will slip at the heel.
