New Balance 9060 Off White Black

Part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Black/Off White. Off White Black is the 9060 reduced to two values, which turns a complicated shoe into a graphic one. The silhouette borrows its logic from the 99x running family, the line that started with the 990 in 1982 and continued through the 991, 992, 993 and each revision, then swells the panelling and the midsole until it stops being a quotation and becomes a shape in its own right. Running black against a soft off white rather than a bright white keeps the contrast from going clinical, and it keeps the shoe in the faded register New Balance has always preferred, where colours look lived in rather than freshly printed.
