Designed by Peter Moore and released on 7 August 2024 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in Metallic Silver/Photon Dust/Wolf Grey. Metallic finishes have a specific place in this line. Patent leather arrived on the Air Jordan XI and brought formal wear material onto a basketball court, which is why that model still gets worn with suits, and every shine treatment since has borrowed the same trick. This women's Low takes it down to the ankle: silver panels on the shape Peter Moore drew in 1984, cut low, sized and lasted for women. The result behaves like jewellery while keeping a basketball outline. Jordan Brand can make this call because it stopped being a single signature model in 1997 and became a division with its own product language, roster and apparel.
Two recipes. Night: black tailored trousers or a black slip skirt, a fitted knit, silver jewellery, and the shoe reading as the finishing hardware. Day: light blue denim, a white shirt worn open, socks pulled just above the collar, letting the silver flash under a rolled hem. Metallic shoes want the rest of the outfit matte, so avoid satin or sequins in the same look. Sizing is close to true, with a secure heel on the women's last. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth first and a barely damp one second, never a stiff brush, and keep them out of standing water since moisture dulls metallised coatings permanently.
Jordan Brand's collaboration programme runs from streetwear into luxury: Off-White under Virgil Abloh, Dior, Comme des Garcons, Supreme and KAWS on the design side. Those partnerships taught the market that an Air Jordan could be a fashion object rather than sports equipment, and a metallic silver women's Low is that lesson applied in house, no third party logo required. Underneath it sits the same history: a shoe that sold out its first 50,000 pairs, then anchored a resale market valued around 2 billion dollars. Silver is the version you wear when you want the shape recognised and the reference left completely unspoken.
Metallic silver panels over a leather base, a low collar, and a stitched rubber cupsole. Metallised surfaces sit on top of the leather rather than in it, so they crease along the flex point and the crease shows as a dulled line, which is the honest trade for the shine. Treat the toe box as the wear indicator. The low cut frees the ankle and shortens the visual line of the shoe, which suits silver well: less surface area means less glare and more of a hardware effect. The rest is the flat, wide platform the silhouette has always offered, comfortable standing, unremarkable running, built to be looked at.
