Silver Grey is the 530 at its most anonymous, which is exactly the register New Balance built its reputation in. The model comes from the brand's 1990s running range, the practical middle where shoes were sold to be run in and worn out, and a cool silver-leaning grey keeps that unfussy character intact rather than styling it into something else. It is also the brand's home colour by inheritance, since the 990 family made grey shorthand for a New Balance long before anyone treated it as a fashion decision. Underneath the colour sits the same fit logic the company has carried since it made arch supports in 1906.
