Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Fade

Fade belongs to the stretch of Boost 350 V2 releases where the interest moved from colour to gradient. The model launched on 24 September 2016 and by this point the silhouette needed no introduction, so the design question became what a single knit could do across its own length. Fade answers that with a graduated wash that runs from light to dark rather than a flat tone or a contrast stripe, a technique that only works because the upper is knitted in one piece to begin with. It still sits inside the label's material first colour thinking, the one that gave us Oxford Tan, Moonrock and Beluga, but it treats the knit as a canvas instead of a swatch. It is one of the more technically interesting late colourways for exactly that reason.
