Two uses. Race day: singlet, split shorts, thin socks, this shoe out of the box only after you have run in it once, because a plated racer changes how your calves and feet load. Fit is deliberately snug through the midfoot with a low volume upper, so try it with race socks and expect a close hold rather than comfort.
