Designed by Kanye West and released on 21 September 2019 as part of the Yeezy Boost 350 line. This release has a primeknit upper in Cloud White/Cloud White/Cloud White. Cloud White is the 350 V2 stripped to its cleanest possible statement. Where the debut colourways leaned on terrain names, Pirate Black, Turtle Dove, Moonrock, this one just says white and means it: a full knit upper with the side stripe blended into the same tone instead of set against it. The V2 arrived on 24 September 2016 and quickly overtook the original Boost 350 from June 2015 as the definitive silhouette of the partnership. The Non Reflective tag matters here, because the same colourway was issued with a reflective version of the stripe, and this is the flat one. adidas ended the Yeezy partnership on 25 October 2022, which puts every pair still circulating firmly in archive territory.
Utility
White knit wants clean lines. Recipe one: mid blue straight leg denim, a white tee, a navy overshirt, minimal jewellery, so the shoe sits inside a colour story rather than fighting it. Recipe two: cream pleated trousers and a grey crewneck for something softer that still keeps the outfit tonal from ankle to shoulder. Take your normal size, since the V2 fits snug through the midfoot and the knit gives rather than the shoe running short. Cloud White is the least forgiving Yeezy colourway to own. Protect it before first wear, brush off dust daily, spot clean with a foam cleaner and a soft brush, and treat any wet or dusty day as a reason to wear something else. Air dry away from sun to stop the midsole yellowing.
Influence
White was how the 350 V2 escaped sneakerhead circles. The silhouette became one of the most recognisable of the 2010s precisely because a plain pale pair reads as normal footwear until you notice the shape, and that legibility is what pushed the model into everyday wardrobes rather than just release day queues. The scarcity model behind it drove bots, resale and queue culture, and turned drop days into cultural events covered well outside sneaker media. Kanye West founded and designed the line, and the adidas partnership was terminated on 25 October 2022 after his antisemitic public remarks, which the company called unacceptable, hateful and dangerous. Understand the shoe as an artefact of that decade rather than an endorsement of the person behind it.
Construction
Primeknit does the whole upper, one machine knitted piece with a stretch collar and no traditional panelling, so the shoe pulls on and then holds like a sock. The stripe is knitted in rather than applied, and in the non reflective build it stays matte in flash photography instead of flaring white. Boost carries the midsole: expanded TPU pellets, visibly speckled, springy underfoot and increasingly soft as they break in. No logo appears on the exterior. In an all white makeup that absence is doing real work, because there is nothing to interrupt the surface and every crease and mark shows. Rope laces sit flat against the knit and are worth keeping loosely tensioned so the collar does not gape at the ankle.
