    Released on 1 August 2025 and part of Hoka's Bondi 9 line. This release has a mesh upper in Stardust/Outer Orbit. Stardust on the Bondi 9 is a colour that belongs to Hoka's biggest era. This is the brand's most familiar road silhouette in a soft, dusty tone made for people who wear the shoe far more than they run in it, and that audience is the reason the company reported revenue of 1.8 billion US dollars in 2024, one of the fastest growth stories in modern running. None of it changes the origin. Hoka was founded in Annecy in 2009 by two former Salomon employees who wanted to run downhill faster and built an oversized cushioned outsole to do it, and the Bondi is the most direct descendant of that decision.

    Two ways to wear it. First, tonal and soft: grey or stone wide leg trousers cropped at the ankle, a white or ecru tee, a light overshirt, the shoe finishing a muted palette. Second, as relief: black or navy heavy clothing with the pale shoe cutting a light line at the floor. It handles long walking days, travel and easy road running equally, though wet weather will mark it. Wear light socks so nothing shows through pale mesh. Pre treat before first wear, brush after each outing, clean with cold water and mild soap, and dry in shade to keep the tone even.

    The Bondi is the model that turned a specialist brand into a household one. Ultrarunning built the reputation, at races like Western States and UTMB where Hoka is now title sponsor, but it was hospital corridors and everyday walking that made the silhouette common, and fashion that made it desirable, with the maximal shape read as running's answer to the chunky sneaker. Soft neutral colourways are the shape of that final stage. This is not the pair bought to chase a personal best; it is the pair bought because you intend to wear it constantly and want it to look calm while you do.

The construction beneath is Hoka's standard argument: a thick midsole engineered for a low weight to cushion ratio, a wide flared heel for a broader landing base and a foot frame that seats the heel inside the foam instead of on top of it, which delivers stability through shape rather than through a stiff medial post. Soft pale colourways mark at the toe box and along the medial sidewall first. Clean those spots early with mild soap and cold water rather than waiting for a full wash.
