Released on 10 October 2024 and part of the Jordan Tatum 3 line. This release has a textile upper in White/Black/Kinetic Green. Jayson Tatum is a signature athlete for the brand, which places him in the line that started when Nike signed a Chicago rookie on 26 October 1984 and gave him a royalty on sales rather than a flat fee. The third shoe in his series is a working basketball shoe first, not a lifestyle retro, and Welcome To The Garden names the arena a visiting player has to survive rather than a colour. The Alternate version is the second reading of that theme. Signature models like this are the reason the Jordan division exists as a standalone unit inside Nike since 1997 with its own athlete roster: the line was never meant to remain one man's shoe.
This is a shoe to play in first. On court, lace it fully with a performance sock and let the midfoot structure do its job; off court, its low profile and technical upper suit tracksuit trousers with a fitted top rather than heavy denim, which fights the shape. Keep the outfit athletic and simple: shorts and a plain tee in warm weather, tapered joggers and a quarter zip when it is cold. Take your usual basketball shoe size. Wipe the outsole clean of dust before playing to preserve traction, brush the textile upper dry rather than washing it, and air dry away from heat which degrades foam.
