New Balance 574 Yurt Salehe Bembury Universal Communication Workwear White

Released on 22 April 2022 and part of New Balance's 574 YURT line. This release has a suede upper in Workwear White/Pink. The 574 is the most widely worn shoe New Balance makes, the model that put the brand on ordinary feet everywhere, and Universal Communication is a Salehe Bembury collaboration that treats that ubiquity as the subject rather than as a problem. Workwear White is the colour, a functional off white that belongs to uniforms rather than to sneakers, and Yurt is the theme the project runs under. The 574 also carries the brand's classic midsole logic, since ENCAP still runs under the 990 and the 574: a moulded polyurethane rim encapsulating a soft EVA core, so structure and shock absorption are handled by different materials. That is the shoe underneath the concept.
