New Balance Wmns 327 'moonbeam Outerspace'

Released on 1 February 2021 and part of New Balance's 327 line. This release has a suede upper in Moonbeam/Outerspace. The 327 borrows its proportions from New Balance's road running era, the period when the company was still small enough to be run out of a few rooms, with an oversized side wall N and a tapered, retro toe. Jim Davis bought the business in 1972, when it had six employees making about thirty pairs a day and sold most of them by mail order, and the running boom that followed is the visual reference this shape leans on. Moonbeam with Outerspace gives the women's cut a pale, luminous ground against deep navy blue, a pairing that keeps the shoe light on the foot while giving the panelling something to push against.
