Nike Dunk High X Fragment Design Beijing

Designed by Peter Moore and released on 5 June 2021 as part of Nike's Dunk line. This release has a leather upper in Wine/Black/White. Fragment Design's work with Nike is built on subtraction: take an archive silhouette, strip the colour to a couple of tones, and let the panelling do the work. The Beijing edition applies that discipline to the Dunk High as a city specific release, which gives the restraint a reason. The Dunk is the right shape for it because it has no technical features to argue with, just leather panels and a high collar. Nike's history of designing for particular places runs alongside its history of designing for sport, from its first store in Santa Monica in 1966 to the first Niketown in Portland in 1990, and city make ups are that instinct in product form.
