Released on 11 October 2025 and part of the Adistar Jellyfish line. This release has a mesh upper in Focus Olive/Core Black/Real Green. This is the greener sibling in Pharrell Williams's VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish set, where Focus Olive gets paired with Real Green instead of a signal orange. The effect is entirely different: instead of a muted field broken by a flare, you get two greens stacked, one dusty and one saturated, which pushes the sculpted sole unit further toward the sea creature the name suggests. Pharrell has been an adidas designer collaborator for years, and the VIRGINIA framing anchors the work in the place he comes from rather than a reference library. The Adistar underneath is a running chassis, which is what makes the strangeness land: recognisable athletic geometry wearing an unfamiliar skin.
Green on green wants a quiet field around it. First recipe: washed grey or stone wide trousers with a white tee and an unstructured overshirt, which lets both greens read as intentional. Second: navy or deep brown from the ankle up, a colour family that flatters olive without fighting the brighter green. These are cushioned, wide-footprint shoes best suited to walking, travel and long standing days rather than sport. Wear a medium sock and size true. Treat the mesh with a protector spray before first wear, brush the seams where the two greens meet so grit does not settle into the join, and keep them out of prolonged sun to protect the brighter panel.
adidas built the modern designer sneaker partnership before anyone else, starting with Yohji Yamamoto's Y-3 and Stella McCartney from 2004, then Jeremy Scott, Raf Simons and Alexander Wang, with Pharrell Williams among the designer collaborators who kept that channel open. That history matters for a shoe like this, because the brand has decades of practice letting an outside eye rework a performance last without the result reading as a costume. adidas has entered culture twice, first through sport and then through music it did not pay for, and Pharrell's work sits at the seam, athletic engineering handed to someone whose primary discipline is sound.
Built on the Adistar running platform, so the foundation is cushioned midsole volume and a breathable upper rather than court-style lockdown. The Jellyfish sole is the design event, a rounded organic form replacing the usual hard-edged runner profile. Two-tone green means the shoe shows dirt differently across its surfaces: the darker olive hides road dust, the brighter green does not, so clean the two areas at the same time or the contrast drifts. Use a soft brush dry, then a barely damp cloth on the synthetic overlays. Avoid heat, since sculpted sole units are bonded and warm water loosens adhesive. Store them upright and unstacked so the sole shape holds.
