Nike SB Dunk Low Black Gum

Released on 24 January 2023 and part of Nike's Dunk SB line. This release has a nubuck upper in Black/White/Black/Gum Light Brown. Black with a gum sole is the default setting for a skate shoe, and the SB Dunk Low wears it better than most because the silhouette was a basketball shape before it was anything else. Nike SB rebuilt the Dunk for skating with more padding and more reinforcement, and then spent years earning credibility in a culture that did not ask for a sportswear giant, including a public correction in 2005 when it used Minor Threat's album art on a tour flyer, drew criticism from Ian MacKaye, apologised on 27 June that year and settled out of court. This is the version of the shoe with none of that noise attached, just black leather and a gum bottom.
