Designed by Kanye West and released on 21 August 2023 as part of the Yeezy Boost 350 line. This release has a primeknit upper in Static/Static/Static. Static closed out 2018 as the 350 V2 everyone wanted and almost nobody got. It shipped in two forms across two days: a reflective run of just 5,000 pairs, style EF2367, went out through Yeezy Supply on December 26, and the non-reflective EF2905 followed on December 27 through select retailers at 220 USD. The official colour name is Static/Static/Static, which is exactly the kind of joke the line liked to make. What set it apart was structural, not just chromatic: the solid woven side stripe every previous 350 V2 wore was swapped for a see-through panel cut into the Primeknit. Static then sat out almost half a decade before returning on August 21 at 230 USD, and EF2905 23 is that return.
Utility
Static is easy to build around because grey and white read as a neutral. One: black tapered joggers cuffed at the ankle with a grey heavyweight hoodie, so shoe and top share a family and the black frames them. Two: light wash straight jeans with a single cuff, plain white tee, unstructured bomber, letting the translucent side panel and caged Boost do the work at ground level. On sizing, do not take your normal size. The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 runs snug with a narrow toe box, so go half up, full up for wide feet or high arches. The Primeknit stretches and moulds over time, but it will not grow width you did not buy. Clean the knit with a soft brush and mild soap, never a machine, and store out of sunlight so the white does not yellow.
Influence
The 350 V2 is the shoe that taught the wider market what a hype release feels like, and Static is one of the two or three colourways collectors will still argue about. It is the neutral in the family, the one that carries the silhouette's whole shape without a bright accent doing the talking, which is why it outlasted the louder pairs stylistically. Its rarity was engineered from day one: 5,000 reflective pairs is a rounding error against global demand, and even the non-reflective version was gone immediately. Add the long absence before the restock and you get a pair that reads as a legacy piece rather than a current drop. On Culture Circle it is among the most wishlisted sneakers on the entire platform.
Construction
The upper is re-engineered Primeknit in a white and grey static pattern, knitted rather than cut and stitched, which is why it wraps the foot like a sock and why the pattern is part of the fabric instead of printed onto it. Where the side stripe used to sit there is now a translucent monofilament panel, so light passes through the flank of the shoe and the silhouette reads lighter than it is. Underneath runs a full Boost midsole, thousands of fused TPU pellets under a caged wrap, and that is the part that makes these wearable for eight hours rather than two. Finishing details: 3M rope laces you can actually cinch, and Three Stripes branding tucked on the inner heel where only you see it.
