Origin
Released on 5 April 2025 and part of Nike's Dunk SB line. This release has a suede upper in Asparagus/Legion Green/Light Khaki/Dark Loden/Sesame/Burnt Sienna. The Yuto Horigome x Dunk Low SB Matcha is the second signature Dunk from the Japanese skater who won the first Olympic gold ever awarded in men's street skateboarding at Tokyo, then defended it in Paris with a last-run nollie 270 noseblunt slide that took him from seventh to first. His first SB Dunk, the Wolf Grey pair, landed in August 2023. This one goes deeper into where he comes from. Nike SB built the whole design around the ritual of matcha tea preparation, and the official colorway reads Asparagus, Legion Green, Light Khaki, Dark Loden, Sesame and Burnt Sienna under style code HF8022-300. Select skate shops got it on April 3, 2025, with SNKRS following on April 5. It is the rare signature shoe that explains a person instead of just decorating a silhouette.
Utility
Build around the green. Construction
Light khaki suede carries the upper, so the shoe breaks in soft and takes grip tape abrasion without splitting early. Matcha green speckled leather overlays sit on top for contrast and for reinforcement at the panels that wear first. Dark green leather Swooshes and brown textile at the collar layer the depth. Nike SB worked in bamboo fibre accents, bubble detailing across the overlays, grinder inspired eyelets and custom lace aglets, every one of them pulled from how matcha is actually made. Yuto's double feather family crest is stamped at the lateral heel. Inside sits a custom sock liner illustrating traditional and contemporary Japan, over the padded collar and cushioning that make a Dunk genuinely skateable, on a durable rubber outsole built for grip.
