Adidas Samba OG Collegiate Green / Cloud White / Gum

Written out in full, the colourway tells you how the shoe is built: Collegiate Green on the panels, Cloud White on the stripes and heel, gum underneath. Three parts, three materials, no decoration. That is the Samba's entire design argument and the reason it has outlived almost everything else adidas made for indoor football. The company's founding method in Herzogenaurach was to build a shoe for one event and let the requirements set the shape, and this silhouette still shows its requirements: flat sole for a wooden floor, suede toe for ball contact, stripes stitched on for reinforcement after adidas bought the mark from Karhu Sports in 1952. Green is simply the version of it that looks best against denim.
