Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released on 23 November 2019 as part of the Air Jordan 4 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Military Blue/Fire Red/Tech Grey. What The 4 is a shoe about other shoes. It takes the Air Jordan 4, from the Tinker Hatfield stretch when the line became a design series with its own vocabulary, and rebuilds it as a patchwork where each panel quotes a different make up from the model's own history. That is only possible because the 4's colourways are famous enough to be recognised one section at a time, which is a strange thing to be able to say about a basketball shoe. The Special Edition designation covers the licence to break the model's colour blocking entirely. Style code CI1184 146.
