New Balance 327 Orange

Released on 1 April 2024 and part of New Balance's 327 line. This release has a suede upper in Classic Orange/Moon Rock. An orange 327 is the clearest evidence that New Balance stopped apologising for being noticed. The shoe already takes the block N, the house mark that normally sits neatly on the side wall, and stretches it across almost the whole panel, an idea lifted from the brand's own seventies cross country and trail shoes where branding was drawn oversized and the outsole wrapped up over the toe. Putting that graphic in a saturated orange removes the last bit of restraint. For a company that spent a century building its reputation on fit and support rather than on visibility, from arch supports in 1906 onwards, it is a deliberate reversal rather than a drift.
