Released on 1 August 2023 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Eclipse/Navy/Black. This 9060 is described by its materials rather than by a colour story, and that is a fair way to sell it, because suede and mesh are the two surfaces the model was designed around. The 9060 takes the 99x running family, the line that runs 990 in 1982, 990v2 in 1998, 991 in 2001, 992 in 2006 and 993 in 2008, and warps its proportions into something sculpted and contemporary. Suede and mesh are the archive's materials, so using them on a redrawn shape is the point: old textures, new geometry. New Balance has been building around foot shape since 1906, and that discipline is what keeps the experiment wearable.
