Part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a mesh upper in Black/Cement/Black. Black Cement is the 9060 stripped to structure. The shoe already borrows its bones from the 99x running family, the line that started with the 990 in 1982 and ran through the 991, 992, 993 and their revisions, then exaggerates the panelling and the midsole until the references stop being polite. Setting that shape in black with a cement grey means you read the geometry rather than the colour, every seam and every layer of the side wall visible as line work. New Balance spent decades being the brand people bought because it was sensible, so a version this severe is the archive being used as a design language rather than as nostalgia.
