Origin
Yeezreel comes from the stretch when the line abandoned material names for invented, biblical sounding ones. The first adidas colourways were called after terrain and substance, Oxford Tan, Moonrock, Turtle Dove, and by this point the naming had turned inward and the colours had turned loud: a yellow green cast across a mottled knit, nothing like the monochrome discipline the brand originally sold. The 350 V2 underneath launched on 24 September 2016 and by then was the most commercially important sneaker shape in the partnership. Non Reflective marks this as the flat build rather than the version whose threads light up under a flash. adidas terminated the partnership on 25 October 2022, so this is archive stock.
Utility
Loud knit, quiet everything else. Recipe one: black cargo trousers with a black tee and a black overshirt, so the yellow green upper is the only colour in the outfit and the shoe reads as a deliberate choice. Recipe two: washed grey sweats with a plain white tee, an easy weekend version where the shoe supplies all the energy. Do not put it next to other saturated colours or prints. Take your usual size, since the midfoot fits snug and the knit gives. Bright yarn dulls with harsh cleaning, so dry brush after wear, use a mild foam cleaner and a soft brush only where needed, keep them out of rain, and air dry indoors away from direct sun.
Influence
Green and yellow makeups like this are where the 350 V2 stopped pretending to be understated. The drop system behind the line, limited numbers released on announced dates, had already created queue culture, bot buying and a resale market that set prices well above retail, and a colourway this visible was built to be recognised across that entire environment instantly. Forbes in 2020 described the commercial rise as one of the great retail stories of the century. Kanye West founded and designed Yeezy, and adidas terminated the partnership on 25 October 2022 after his antisemitic public remarks, which the company called unacceptable, hateful and dangerous.
Construction
One piece Primeknit forms the upper, which is what lets a mottled multi tone yarn run continuously from toe to heel without seams cutting the pattern into blocks. The stripe area is absorbed into the same knit. Below it, the Boost midsole is expanded TPU pellet foam, springy and speckled, and in this makeup it acts as the neutral base under a busy upper. The non reflective build keeps the yarn matte in photographs, so what you see in daylight is what you get at night. No logo appears anywhere outside. Fit is snug through the midfoot with a stretch collar you pull on, and the knit loosens into your foot shape over the first fortnight.
