New Beginnings is a storytelling name rather than a colour, and Jordan Brand has used that kind of framing to point back at the earliest chapter of the line: Nike signing Michael Jordan on 26 October 1984 to a six year, 2.5 million dollar deal worth roughly three times any other contract in the league, the first shoe produced for him on 17 November 1984, and the public release on 1 April 1985. The Air Jordan 1 Low is the everyday cut of that silhouette, Peter Moore's pattern with the ankle removed.
