Gymshark began in 2012 with Ben Francis at nineteen, screen printing and sewing gym kit by hand because everything on the market was cut for someone twice his size. Second, the off-day version: straight-leg black denim, a light overshirt worn open, clean white sneakers, so the fitted cut becomes a base layer instead of the entire look. The build is 65 percent nylon and 35 percent polyester at 187gsm, which is genuinely light. You notice it most when the shirt stops registering as a layer halfway through a working set. Seamless construction is the real story: Gymshark knits these pieces as one continuous run rather than cutting and sewing panels together, so the side and underarm seams that normally sit against your skin are simply absent. That removes the chafe points, which matters when a bar sits across your traps or a strap crosses your torso for an hour. The shaping is knitted in instead of stitched in, which is where the muscle-fit contouring comes from, and the sweat-wicking construction pulls moisture off the skin. Cut is slim with a regular length.
