Released on 8 April 2025 and part of Hoka's Clifton 10 line. This release has a jacquard upper in Blue/Skyward Blue. Skyward Blue is the colourway that suits the Clifton best, because both the shoe and the shade are meant to be uncomplicated. The Clifton is Hoka's balanced daily trainer, the model that made the brand's founding argument legible to normal runners: an oversized cushioned platform, first built in Annecy in 2009 to make downhill running faster, engineered light enough that the depth never becomes a burden. Ten versions in, that is still the only promise it makes. In a clear, open blue with tonal detailing, this is the version that looks like a running shoe rather than a fashion object, which is precisely its appeal.
Two ways. Daily mileage: Skyward Blue Clifton 10 with black shorts and a technical tee, used across easy runs, steady runs and long runs, which is the full range this shoe is designed for. Casual: grey sweatpants or dark denim with a white crew, where a clean blue keeps the outfit from reading as pure gym kit. Fit true to length with a standard toe box. Rotate something firmer in for speed sessions so the foam lasts. Brush loose dirt, wipe with mild soap and a damp cloth, remove the insole to dry after wet runs, and keep it out of machines and off heaters.
The Clifton is the model most responsible for turning Hoka into a mainstream purchase, which makes it the natural entry point in newer markets. In India the brand arrived through e-commerce rather than owned retail, brought in by Tata Cliq on Tata Cliq Luxury with around sixty styles priced from roughly Rs 4,999 for simple slip ons up to about Rs 17,999 for premium women's running shoes. That places Hoka in the premium performance tier rather than the mass sports segment, which is consistent with how the brand grew everywhere else: recommended between runners, then between colleagues, then bought for how it looks.
The Clifton is built by removing things. A thin, breathable engineered mesh upper with minimal overlays keeps weight where the brand wants it, in the midsole, in service of the low weight to cushion ratio the company was founded on. Hoka's rocker geometry rolls you forward through the stride rather than making you lever off a flat sole, and the sidewall that seats the heel inside the midsole delivers stability without a firm medial post. The flared heel broadens the landing platform. Skyward Blue carries across the upper with lighter midsole contrast, so the depth of the stack and the flare of the heel remain fully visible in profile.
