Versace Man arrived in 2003 as a spicy oriental built around tobacco, a warm and deliberately Latin statement scent. The house wanted a summer counterpart, so it went to Olivier Cresp, the Grasse-born perfumer behind Mugler Angel and Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, and asked for Mediterranean instead of smoky. Versace Man Eau Fraiche landed in 2006 as a woody aquatic and never left the shelf. The pale blue juice sits inside clear glass so it reads like seawater from across a room, with the Greek key motif worked into the flacon and the Medusa signature carried through the packaging. It has held cult status in fragrance circles ever since, which almost never happens to a flanker, and it remains the default answer when someone asks for a clean, fresh, unmistakably Italian men's fragrance.
