Designed by Peter Moore and released on 10 April 2024 as part of the Air Jordan 1 line. This release has a leather upper in White/Black. Air Jordan built its identity on a basketball court, then spent decades proving the shape travels. Jordan Brand became sole equipment provider to the Michigan Wolverines football team in 2016 and sponsored Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, its first association football club, so a golf specific version of the Air Jordan 1 Low is part of a long pattern rather than a novelty. Golf is the sport where a sneaker silhouette gets to be worn for four hours on grass by people who otherwise dress conservatively, which makes it fertile ground for a shoe with this much recognition. The Endless Pursuit Pack framing puts the 1 into a game defined by repetition and patience, which is a long way from the 1985 pitch.
Two recipes. First, on course: mid grey performance trousers and a plain polo, where the shoe is the only thing in the outfit with any personality. Second, off course: dark chinos and a quarter zip, walking straight from the clubhouse into a restaurant without changing. Size true to length and wear a proper golf sock, because the fit tightens over a long round. Clean the outsole after every wet round before the soil hardens, dry at room temperature rather than near heat, and keep the pair in a ventilated bag rather than sealed in plastic where damp will sit, and replace it once the traction pattern flattens.
Jordan Brand is a Nike division created in 1997 that reached about 5.1 billion dollars by 2022, and the expansion beyond basketball is a large part of why. The brand carries signed athletes across the NFL with Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott and across MLB with Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter, alongside its basketball roster. Golf sits naturally in that widening: a sport with a strict dress culture and an audience that has money and pays attention to footwear. Bringing the Air Jordan 1, a shoe whose earliest advertising was built on breaking a uniform rule, onto a course with its own dress codes is a joke the brand has always enjoyed telling.
This is a golf classified build of the Air Jordan 1 Low, so the outsole and the waterproofing are the parts that differ from a lifestyle pair, and everything above the midsole is there to keep the silhouette legible. Nike Air cushioning has been in the line since the second model and does useful work over eighteen holes of walking. Expect the traction pattern to be tuned for turf rather than pavement, which means the sole will wear faster on concrete than a standard low would. Treat it as sport equipment: dry it properly after wet rounds, brush grass and soil off the outsole before it sets, and do not use it as a daily street shoe if you want the traction to last.
