Ice Blue is a pale, cold blue, the softest register the Air Jordan 1 palette offers, and it lands here on the grade school Mid. Where the adult line keeps circling back to Chicago red, the GS Mid is where Jordan Brand runs the widest colour range, because younger buyers are choosing a shoe rather than a piece of history. The pattern underneath is unchanged: Peter Moore's design with Bruce Kilgore, made for Michael Jordan after Nike signed him on 26 October 1984 and released to the public on 1 April 1985. Leather upper, perforated toe box, mudguard, eyestay and heel counter, padded ankle collar with the Wings logo, and a rubber cupsole with the pivot circle underneath, all scaled to grade school proportions rather than redesigned.
