Released on 21 August 2024 and part of the Air Jordan 4 RM line. This release has a leather upper in Black/Light Bone/Dark Grey. The RM line takes the fourth model off the court and rebuilds it for walking, keeping the parts that make the 4 identifiable in outline and changing what happens underneath. Black with Light Bone is the most functional way it comes: a dark upper with a pale, warm off white on the sole and trim, so the shape reads clearly at distance without any colour signalling. The 4's design identity was always its hardware, the mounted lace wings, the open side panels and the visible heel structure, and those survive a lifestyle rebuild better than most silhouettes would, because they are structural features rather than decoration.
Black over a bone sole is the most versatile combination in this batch. Black tapered trousers with a cropped hem and a grey crewneck lets the pale sole draw the only line, which is a clean, modern look. For weekends, dark denim, a cream hoodie and a black jacket ties the bone tone upward without matching it exactly. Avoid pure white socks, since bone is warm and white next to it reads accidental. Care is easy on the upper and specific on the sole: brush the black dry, wipe with a damp cloth when needed, and clean the bone midsole separately with a magic sponge before marks set, because warm off whites yellow if left dirty.
The 4 is one of the models the collector market actually runs on, and that market has been valued at roughly 2 billion dollars with more projected. You keep the 4's defining closure, where laces pass through separate mounted wings on the quarter panel rather than through plain eyelets, so tension spreads across the midfoot. The open panel work still ventilates well, which is a genuine advantage in heat and a genuine liability in mud, since dirt goes straight through to the lining. Nike Air cushioning entered the line from the second model onward, and lifestyle rebuilds in the range sit inside that engineering lineage while tuning the ride for pavement rather than for landings.
