Two ways to wear it. First, the evening default: two sprays at the chest and wrist before dinner, drinks or a wedding reception, where the close, oil-heavy read works in a seated room and does not overwhelm the person next to you. Second, the cold-weather day: one spray only, on the chest under a knit or jacket, so the fabric warms it out slowly through a winter afternoon. Skip it in peak Indian summer humidity, where a parfum concentration turns heavy fast. Store it upright, boxed, away from a bathroom shelf; steam and sunlight degrade a concentrate faster than they degrade a toilette.

Dior's authority with men came from the clothes before it came from the bottle. Hedi Slimane ran Dior Homme from 2000 to 2007 and defined the skinny rock silhouette of the era, pulling in documented wearers including Brad Pitt and Mick Jagger. Kim Jones's menswear decade from 2018 to 2025 then made the house the reference point for luxury meeting streetwear, with the 2020 Air Dior Jordan 1 as the clearest single object of that shift. Sauvage is the fragrance that sits underneath all of it, the mass-scale entry to a house whose menswear has spent twenty-five years being the thing everyone else reacts to.

Concentration is the whole story here. More perfume oil and less alcohol means the opening is quieter, the settle is faster and the tail runs longer, which is why a parfum is dosed differently from a toilette. Two sprays is a complete application and should go on skin, not on a shirt collar, because oil-heavy liquid marks fabric far more readily than a light spray. Place them low, at the sternum and the inner wrist, and let body heat move it upward. Under Francis Kurkdjian's creative direction of perfume since October 2021 the house has been building out concentration tiers of its major names rather than launching endless new ones, and this is one of those tiers.
