Designed by Peter Moore and released on 22 June 2022 as part of Nike's Dunk line. This release has a leather upper in Medium Soft Pink/Hyper Pink/Pink Foam. A tonal Dunk removes the thing the silhouette is best known for, which is colour blocking, and forces the shape to carry itself. Triple Pink, style code DH9765 600, does that in the most committed way available: base, overlays, Swoosh, midsole and outsole all in the same family, so what you notice is the outline and the stitching rather than the panels. On a grade school last it is a shoe designed to be chosen by the person wearing it rather than bought sensibly by an adult. Nike has been selling that kind of ownership since the Swoosh, drawn by design student Carolyn Davidson, was first used in June 1971 and became the most recognisable mark a child could point at.
Recipe one: white jeans and a white tee with a denim jacket, letting the shoe be the only colour and the outfit stay bright. Recipe two: grey sweatpants, a black hoodie and white socks, using a neutral base so the pink stays vivid rather than competing. Do not try to match other pinks: near misses look worse than deliberate contrast. Grade school sizing should leave a thumb width at the toe for growth. Coloured midsoles cannot be whitened, so clean them gently with mild soap and a soft brush and accept some greying over time. Keep the pair out of prolonged sun, which fades pink dye faster than any other shade.
Nike's credibility with young female buyers rests on a long sponsorship record: Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Allyson Felix in track, and Serena Williams as an endorser who publicly supported the company during its September 2018 campaign with Colin Kaepernick. That history is why a fully pink sneaker from this brand does not read as a token gesture. Alongside it runs the broader story of Nike's court shoes crossing from gyms into mainstream youth dress in the 1980s and staying there through 1990s and 2000s casual wear. A triple pink Dunk is that inheritance handed to someone who has never seen the original shoe played in.
Monochrome executions live on texture. With colour contrast removed, the Dunk's separate panels are distinguished by finish and stitch line alone, so smooth leather against a slightly grained overlay is what gives the shoe depth in daylight. The build is the standard grade school Dunk Low, a stitched upper, padded collar, foam midsole with no visible air unit and a rubber outsole with a pivot circle, keeping the ride flat, firm and predictable. A pink midsole and outsole rather than white is the detail that makes this a true triple, and it is also the part that will show wear first, since coloured rubber picks up grey marking from pavement much more visibly than white does.
