Released on 25 February 2022 and part of the Kwondo 1 line. This release has a leather upper in White/White/White. Nike's collaborative history is longer and stranger than most people assume, running from a distribution deal with Onitsuka Tiger between 1964 and 1972 through to acquiring a virtual sneaker studio and working with artists on digital product. The Kwondo 1 sits in the creative end of that spectrum: a silhouette developed with G Dragon rather than a recoloured archive model, which is a rarer arrangement than a standard colourway collaboration. Triple White is the version that lets the shape speak. With no contrast panels and no accent colour, everything you notice is the outline, the proportions and the details built into the last, which is exactly how a bespoke silhouette wants to be seen.
All white sneakers are a discipline, not a shortcut. Wear it with black tailored trousers cropped at the ankle, a white shirt and a black overcoat for a sharp, high contrast look where the shoe finishes the line. The relaxed version: light grey sweat trousers, a white hoodie and minimal silver jewellery, staying entirely within one tonal family. Avoid heavy patterns, which fight an all white shoe. Sizing on bespoke silhouettes varies from standard Nike lasts, so try on where possible rather than assuming your usual number. Protect the upper before wear one, clean with mild soap and a soft cloth after each outing, and store in a cool dark place.
Nike's collaborations have historically run through commerce and sport, from the Wieden and Kennedy partnership that produced Just Do It in 1988 through to being the official on court uniform supplier to the NBA, WNBA and NBA G League. The creative side is newer and looser, including work with artist Takashi Murakami on digital product. A signature silhouette built with a musician sits in that newer territory, where the co-signer supplies an audience the sports machine cannot reach. Triple white is the most confident way to release something like that, since it removes the branding cues and asks you to judge the shape.
An all white build is the hardest finish to sell, because there is nowhere for a bad line to hide. Every seam, every panel edge and every piece of stitching becomes drawing, and the shape has to be resolved enough to carry attention on its own. That is why triple white executions usually appear on shoes the designer is confident about. Nike's structural instincts still govern the base, following the principle Bowerman established with his waffle iron sole that a shoe is engineered from the ground up. Practical consequences are unavoidable: white uppers need protecting before first wear, cleaning after every outing, and storage away from heat, since white midsoles yellow with warmth and time.
