Origin
Released on 8 April 2025 and part of Hoka's Clifton 10 line. This release has a jacquard upper in Navy/White. Navy and white is the most classical way anyone has ever dressed a Clifton, and it works because the tenth version of this model has quietly become a casual shoe as much as a running one. The Clifton is the road daily trainer that carried Hoka's founding idea, oversized cushion built in Annecy to make downhill running faster, into ordinary life. Navy tempers the exaggerated sidewall stack, while the white midsole and trim keep the shape legible instead of heavy. This is the pair that looks intentional in a shop window and still makes sense at the start of a five kilometre loop, which is exactly the balance the model has been drifting toward.
Utility
Two ways to wear it. First, prep casual: white or ecru chinos, navy crew or a striped tee, and the shoe finishes the outfit without competing with it. Second, dark denim: indigo straight legs with a white shirt, where the white midsole picks up the shirt and the navy upper picks up the jeans. Construction
The Clifton was always about getting cushion without the weight penalty, which is the low weight to cushion ratio the brand has chased since it bought its own place in running with thicker midsoles than anyone else. The house geometry, a low heel to toe drop under a rounded sole, keeps the roll going so a soft shoe does not turn sluggish. The heel drops into the midsole walls rather than sitting on top, which is why the ride feels held. In navy with white, the two tone split shows dirt in different ways: the white midsole marks fastest. Clean the foam edge with a damp cloth and mild soap, brush the navy upper dry, and let the pair air rather than forcing it near heat.
