Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released on 22 May 2025 as part of Nike's Air Force 1 line. This release has a patent leather upper in Lucky Green/Mystic Red/University Gold. The Air Force 1 has always been a shared object. From the 1980s onward Nike became a status symbol in urban and hip hop fashion, and the AF1 sat alongside Air Jordans and Air Max models as a staple of mainstream American youth dress, adopted by musicians long before it was ever handed to one. This pair closes that loop: a Lil Yachty build carrying the Concrete Boys name, executed in Lucky Green. Green is the deliberate part, a colour the AF1 rarely wears at full saturation, and putting a collective's name on the most claimed shoe in American music is a fair statement of where the silhouette actually lives.
Wear one: all black, wide trousers and a black tee, so Lucky Green is the only colour in play and reads as a deliberate flash at the floor. Wear two: heavy washed denim with a cream hoodie, where green sits comfortably against blue and warm white without either fighting it. Do not pair it with another bright colour, and skip green clothing entirely. The AF1 collar is tall, so a stacked or fully clearing hem works better than one that catches mid-collar. Clean saturated colours carefully, since scrubbing lifts dye at the panel edges: a barely damp cloth with mild soap, worked gently, and drying away from heat is all it needs.
Nike's move into music-adjacent culture began through basketball, where the 1984 Michael Jordan signing and Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon advertising made the brand the shoe of the sport and then of hip hop. The company's history with music has not always been consensual, from the unauthorised use of the Beatles' Revolution in 1987 that ended in a lawsuit and pulled ads in March 1988, to Nike SB's 2005 appropriation of Minor Threat's album art and the apology that followed. Formal artist collaborations are the corrected version of that relationship, and this pair carries Lil Yachty and the Concrete Boys name as stated on the shoe itself.
The Air Force 1 Low is the heaviest of Nike's everyday court shapes: a thick midsole, a full padded collar, a reinforced toe, a wide lacing panel and the pivot-point outsole that gives the model its footprint. Nike Air, the pressurised gas unit sealed in the midsole for cushioning, sits underneath and is why a shoe with this much mass still works over a long day. A saturated green across a shoe this size is a commitment, because the AF1 has large uninterrupted panels and no place for the colour to hide. Collaborative branding on this model typically lands on the tongue, heel and insole, the three areas the silhouette leaves free for it.
