New Balance 530 White Silver Green

Part of New Balance's 530 line. This release has a synthetic upper in White/Silver Metallic. White, silver and green is a running palette from a decade when performance shoes were allowed to be optimistic, and the 530 wears it convincingly because that is where the model comes from. This is one of New Balance's performance running shapes repurposed as an everyday sneaker, light on the foot and clean in outline. The green accent gives an otherwise clinical colourway somewhere to land. New Balance opened in 1906 as the New Balance Arch Support Company, an orthopaedic business rather than a sportswear one, and that origin still shows in how the brand builds even its most casual shoes: around the foot first, around the look second.
