Released on 8 March 2025 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a suede upper in Reflection/Black/Grey. The 9060 is what happens when New Balance treats its own 99x runners as raw material rather than as sacred objects. The panel lines and midsole language of the archive get swollen and warped into a shape that is unmistakably New Balance and unmistakably not a running shoe. Reflection Black takes that sculpture and drops it into full darkness. Where the grey versions borrow the brand's suburban comfort reputation, the black one removes it, so the only thing left to read is the geometry. It is the 9060 for people who want the silhouette without the normcore reference, and it is the easiest version of the shoe to wear in a city that does not forgive white midsoles.
Utility
Go monochrome: black wide leg trousers with a clean break, a black tee, a grey or black zip up, so the shoe becomes a mass at the bottom of the outfit rather than a detail. The second recipe uses contrast, raw indigo denim with a white shirt, where the black shoe anchors everything and keeps a bright top half from floating. Construction
