Origin
Released on 12 January 2024 and part of New Balance's 9060 line. This release has a leather upper in White. The 9060 is built out of parts of the 99x family, a line that ran from the 990 in 1982 through the 991 in 2001, the 992 in 2006 and the 993 in 2008 before the numbered versions took over. Where those shoes were engineered for runners and then adopted by everyone else, the 9060 is drawn the other way round, styled first and exaggerated on purpose. Triple White is the most demanding way to buy it. Removing all contrast leaves nothing but the silhouette, which on a shoe this sculpted means every curve and cut has to hold up on its own. It is the version that looks least like a sneaker and most like an object.
Utility
Look one: all white or off white, wide trousers and a boxy tee, an outfit where the shoe is the sculptural element and the clothes stay flat.
